Not what they used to be

None of this is Foard's fault, but Maxim sold out a few years ago to Northern Tool if I'm not mistaken. Having purchased at least 4 of these tillers new over the last 25 years, this latest one quickly showed that that it is built much cheaper (lower quality). I replaced a transmission on the last tiller and discovered that all of the bolts around the transmission were loose and lost a few of them during use. Now that I need a new tiller rather than replacing another transmission, I just decided to purchase another one. During assembly I discovered the same issue and tightened all of the bolts on the transmission before use. The holes used for the pin that holds the wheels in the upright position were not lined up as to be able to insert the spring held pin. I used a hammer to line up the holes just enough for the pin to insert. The pin that holds stinger adjustment up or down was bound between the frame and transmission (square flat side of the pin). Unsure if there was any grease in the transmission, I put some in myself. I also noticed that the wheels were held on by caps, and no longer washers and cotter pins. To add insult to injury, during the first use, one of the inner tines had its metal "tear" away from the pin that holds it in place. The tine?! That's supposed to be the toughest metal on the whole thing. I'm glad that I kept my former no longer usable Maxim tillers for parts. I am disappointed in the quality drop and now they cost twice as much as they used to. At least the Honda engine is a positive. Probably be my last one.

Bought a new maxim tiller from these guys, the order process was easy, getting the tiller here was a different story, but that was not Foards fault, they were just waiting on tillers from the manufacturer. Once they received it, they shipped it out immediately to me. I would order from them again and I would recommend them to others.

    American made quality.

Delivery driver was very professional and friendly. As soon as I opened to crate, I could see that this is a quality piece of equipment. A short and easy assembly and it was ready to go. Also, engine stated on first pull!

Finding a landscape grade tiller in Fort Worth turned out to be impossible. I recognize Covid-19 to be the cause, messing with personnel work schedules all the way up the supply chain.
While researching tillers online I discovered Foard's Inc.'s website. From their site I researched tiller's and cost. They offered better products than are available locally. I called and talked with one of their a helpful reps and made a purchase.
I qualified for free shipping; the freight company was professional and very communicative. The whole process with Foard's Inc. was top notch and I am a happy customer.
