I had placed an order for some seals earlier the same day and then found the cause of the seal damage was rust inside of the cylinder. The Boss cylinder tube is not chrome plated. I called Foards, they stopped the first shipment, added the tube I needed and still shipped the same day for one shipping charge instead of two.
There was a small amount of rust from storage which I polished out of the new tube. Other than that all was great. These cylinder tubes have dents where they are manufactured. When installing be sure the dents are on the end toward the wedge. FYI, Boss said to shake these units periodically to prevent rust buildup.
