Shredder

A local Stihl dealer told me that a shredder was needed for this accessory. I bought the shredder from them, but it came with no instructions. Through trial and error I learned that the nut holding the shredder in place is left hand threaded and a piston lock was needed to remove the nut. I removed the spark plug and stuffed a small diameter rope in to “lock” the piston and allow installation of the shredder and replacement of the nut. Works fine now.
I could have used some instructions from Stihl, my local dealer or you to insure this important device was installed correctly and eliminate my anxiety over trial and error maintenance.
