The Maxim 48-in. tow-behind plug aerator offers a wide aeration width to cover commercial properties fast. The plug aeration design allows necessary air, water, and nutrients to penetrate your lawn's roots. Add up to 32 gallons of water for an additional 267 pounds of weight to penetrate the thickest soils.

Verdict out

I have clay soil and so far I am not satisfied with the results. I ran it a a second time on the day after a light rain and the penetration was better but not to my satisfaction. Sharp turns are also an issue and I’ve started to think about a way to raise/lower the implement. Using it in moist soil and with a raise/lower mechanism will most likely be acceptable. The quality of the manufacturing looks overall very good, but I did notice that hitch pin plates are at a slight angle compared to the arm. In summary, the quality is good but the function is not great in my soil and if it doesn’t perform in the next wet run then I’m considering to cut my losses with a sale and will look for a heavier 3pt implement.
